New Contruction at High AltitudeWinter Construction of Rocky Point Townhomes

ROCKY POINT TOWNHOMES: SUMMIT COUNTY, COLORADO:

We encountered a unique set of challenges during the development and construction of the Rocky Point Townhomes in Dillon, Colorado. The project is located in Summit County at an elevation of over 9,000 feet above sea level. During the long winter season the area receives six to ten feet of snow. In addition to the cold and snowy weather conditions, our building site sloped steeply, which made access during the building process difficult.

Modern ConstructionAssembling the Modular Units

But the view was awesome!

We constructed nine multi-story townhomes with vaulted ceilings and big decks that took great advantage of dramatic views of the Blue River valley.

We chose a modular method of construction on several of the buildings whereby the units were built in sections off site then assembled over the poured concrete foundations. The system allowed us to work over the winter with little weather-caused delay.

The finished product was undistinguishable from conventionally built structures. The townhomes contained highly insulated 2 X 6 walls, cedar siding and generous decks. All of the units were sold prior to the completion of construction.
